OUR STORY

We craft custom woodwork packages and work to preserve our architectural heritage by providing beautiful restorations in the PNW.

Oak Grove Woodwork + Restore founder, Gary Risley, started his carpentry journey as a 7th generation Oregonian growing up in Oak Grove, Oregon. With a strong, hard-working single mother, who’s motto was “figure it out”, he developed a will, drive and passion to preserve history. He started his contracting business in 2003 as Risley Renovations, evolved into VG Millworks, and rebranded to OGWR to fully capture the breadth of work now offered.

Since then the team has grown to include Cal Bartol, Alex Pope-Heinrich, and Jonah Diment. They've been creating and producing niche millwork packages for barre3 franchises that are shipped across the country, crafting custom woodwork, restoring historic homes, and building new works to last a lifetime.

We strive to source renewable and reclaimed PNW materials whenever possible. The OGWR team is driven by preservation, creativity and collaboration. We look forward to working with you to bring your ideas to life.
